Yaw calipers are important components of wind turbines. Our V20 model -16MW calipers, developed in deep cooperation with Goldwind Technology, have advanced braking performance in China and can provide strong technical support for the large-scale and batch application of high-power offshore wind turbines in the future.

The center height of the hub of the world’s first 16 MW offshore wind turbine is 152 meters, which is approximately equivalent to the height of a 52 story building. The combined weight of the engine room and generator set is 385 tons, equivalent to the weight of 190 off-road vehicles; The blade is 123 meters long and weighs 54 tons per blade. The impeller has a sweeping area of about 50000 square meters, which is equivalent to the size of 7 standard football fields.

In order to solve the problems of noise and performance caused by yaw calipers over the years, our company has hired experts to introduce talents and established the Henan Province Wind Turbine Friction Material Engineering Technology Research Center. After years of research and repeated experiments, significant breakthroughs have been made, and friction pads with high specific pressure, stable friction, low loss, not easy to break, low noise, and self-lubricating advantages and unique technologies have been developed. The performance exceeds that of similar domestic products. By optimizing the braking torque, electro-hydraulic ratio, and performance of friction pads and other components, significant technological breakthroughs have been made in friction materials for high-power wind turbines in China, realizing the industrialization and localization of offshore wind power equipment manufacturing and promoting the sustainable development of China’s offshore wind power industry.
