On October 12, China’s completely independently developed 26-megawatt offshore wind turbine unit, the world’s largest of its kind, was officially launched in Fujian Province.
The hub center design height of the 26 MW offshore wind turbine that was taken offline this time is 185 meters, equivalent to a 63 story residential building. The impeller diameter exceeds 310 meters, and the sweeping area exceeds 77000 square meters, equivalent to 10.5 standard football fields. It is currently the largest single unit capacity and longest impeller diameter offshore domestically produced wind turbine in the world.
Among them, the key components such as the generator, blades, bearings, and electronic control system of the unit have reached the world’s leading level of technology, which is the latest achievement of rapid technological progress in the entire industry chain of wind power equipment in China.
This unit is tailored for medium to high wind speed sea areas with wind speeds of 8 meters per second or more. At an average annual wind speed of 10 meters per second, a single unit can output 100 million kilowatt hours of clean electricity per year, which can meet the daily electricity needs of 55000 ordinary households for one year. It can save more than 30000 tons of standard coal and reduce carbon dioxide emissions by more than 80000 tons.

It is driven by a hydraulic station and has more reliable durability. It is designed with a position sensing switch and a positioning locking device for more accurate positioning and safer use. Its heavy anti-corrosion process strictly meets the harsh working environment at sea. The locking pin is used in pairs and can resist a maximum swing torque of 24000 KNm.
