Description
The shrink disc is a flexible connection device developed for most applications in heavy-load conditions. It is installed on the outer ring of the gearbox planet carrier, and by tightening the high-strength bolts that pass through the disc, the two discs are pressed against each other, generating radial pressure. This tightly compresses the shaft and the surface of the planet carrier, creating pressure and friction between the contact surfaces. This realizes a keyless connection, relying on this pressure and friction to transmit torque, axial force, or a combination of both loads.
