1. How to distinguish left and right types of brakes?

Drum brake:

When standing facing the actuator side, it is defined as left type if the manual device is on the left, and right type if on the right.

Arm-disc brake:

When facing the brake arm, it is defined as left type if the actuator is on the left, and right type if on the right.

2. What types of limit switches are there?

Limit switches are classified into: proximity limit switches and mechanical limit switches.

Among them, mechanical limit switches are further divided into:

rocker-arm mechanical limit switches

direct-acting mechanical limit switches

3. What should be noted after the brake is debugged and installed?

The actuator stroke is 50mm (60mm), and the compensation stroke is 10mm (15mm).

If there is no automatic lining wear compensation device, when the compensation stroke is lower than 10mm (15mm), the braking torque of the brake will gradually decrease. When the compensation stroke is 0mm, the brake will completely fail.

4. Why does insufficient braking torque occur during the initial commissioning of the brake?

This situation generally occurs because the brake linings have not been run in during initial installation, resulting in a small contact area between the brake wheel/disc and the brake linings. Running-in is required to ensure that the contact area between the brake linings and the brake wheel/disc exceeds 70%.

5. What oil should be added to the Ed actuator?

For the temperature range of -20℃ to +50℃, use DB25 hydraulic oil.

For temperatures below -20℃, use YH-10 aviation hydraulic oil.
